Last week, we went back in time when we visited Sevington School near Chippenham. Sevington is a perfectly preserved Victorian schoolroom and teacher's house, complete with kitchen garden and wash house.We all dressed in Victorian clothes and attended school as if it were over 150 years ago. Boys and girls were separated, the children sat in rows and wrote on slates and Miss Squire even showed us her 'articles of correction'. Luckily, she didn't actually use the cane! It was a fun day and greatly added to our Victorian topic.Read More
